The best time for Har Ki Dun trek is from April to June and September to November. These months offer pleasant weather with clear views of the mountains. Winters (December-March) are extremely cold with possible snowfall, while monsoons (July-August) can make trails slippery.
Har Ki Dun is considered a moderate trek suitable for beginners with reasonable fitness. The highest altitude reached is about 3,566 meters (11,700 feet). Daily walking distance ranges from 8-14 km with gradual ascents. Proper acclimatization is built into the itinerary.
The trek includes 2 nights in homestays at Sankri (shared rooms) and 4 nights in tents (triple sharing). Tents are weatherproof with sleeping bags and mattresses provided. There are separate dining and toilet tents at campsites.
All meals from Day 1 dinner to Day 7 breakfast are included. We provide nutritious vegetarian meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice. Meals during transit to/from Dehradun are excluded.
Mobile network is available in Sankri (BSNL works best). During the trek, network availability is intermittent or non-existent, especially at higher altitudes. This is a great opportunity to disconnect and enjoy nature!
