Visit the sacred high-altitude lake at 14,000 feet

The best time for Buran Ghati Trek is from May to June and September to October. During May-June, you'll experience snow at the pass, while September-October offers clear skies and stable weather. Monsoon (July-August) is not recommended due to slippery trails and leeches.
Buran Ghati is rated as moderate to challenging. While the daily distances aren't long, the high altitude (max 15,000 ft at the pass) and the steep snow slide descent make it physically demanding. Good fitness level and prior trekking experience are recommended.
You should be able to walk 5-6 hours daily with a backpack. Cardiovascular endurance is important - regular jogging, cycling or stair climbing for 2-3 months prior will help. Strength training for legs and core will also be beneficial for the snow slide descent.
The snow slide is a thrilling 300-400 meter controlled slide down from Buran Pass. Our guides will provide proper training and safety equipment. While exciting, it's completely safe when done under expert supervision with proper technique.
