The trek is considered moderate. The distance from Chopta to Tungnath is about 3.5km (2-3 hours uphill) and another 1km to Chandrashila summit. The trail is well-defined but steep in parts. Anyone with reasonable fitness can complete it.
Essentials include: Good trekking shoes, warm layers (temperatures drop at night), rain jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, water bottle, snacks, personal medication, headlamp, and a small backpack for the trek. Don't forget your camera!
